The Malaysian Green Dwarf Coconut Tree, also known as Malayan Green Dwarf, is a popular coconut variety valued for its early fruiting, green coconuts and excellent tender coconut potential. This dwarf variety generally begins bearing within 3–4 years under suitable growing conditions. Its relatively compact growth makes harvesting more convenient than with traditional tall coconut varieties. Malaysian Green Dwarf is particularly suitable for tender coconut production. With adequate irrigation, balanced fertilization and regular maintenance, it can provide consistent production in tropical growing conditions. It is also widely used as a parent in coconut hybrid breeding programmes.
